Sella is a beautiful, authentic village, situated in the area of the Aitana mountains, near the Costa Blanca. Nature here is spectacular. And it?s only 18 kilometres from the beach of Villajoyosa and not more then 25 kilometres from Benidorm. Alicante is only 40 kilometres away.
During the Moorish occupation Sella on the Costa Blanca in Spain was the most prosperous town in the region. It was totally inhabited by Moors. During the times of Felipe III the Moorish population was removed and the town lost its cultural identity and empowered.
The Sella of today is a farming town that suffers from the fact that many of its inhabitants take better paid jobs in the tourist sector on the coast.
